<p>&nbsp;"Wow the best, this is a good development in Malaysia."</p><p><br /></p><p>After receiving approval from the Minister of Finance and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to start operations on 1 September 2023, GX Bank Berhad (GXBank) led by Grab has succeeded in becoming the first digital bank in Malaysia.</p><p><br /></p><p>Through a statement on Grab's website, GXBank not only revealed that it had completed the operational readiness review but also stated that it was one of the five licensed digital banks that had started operations.</p><p><br /></p><p>GXBank is a subsidiary of GXS Bank Pte. Ltd which has partnered with Grab Holdings Limited, Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) and Kuok Group.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>As the start of operations, the digital bank will begin beta testing its application starting with its employees from GXBank, Grab including Kuok Group and gradually roll out to a wider group of users.</p><p><br /></p><p>The move will allow GXBank to receive continuous feedback and refine the user experience before launching to the public.</p><p><br /></p><p>Not only that, GXBank will also take advantage of technology and innovation to meet the needs of individuals, micro and small medium enterprises (MSMEs) that are not or underserved.</p><p><br /></p><p>Please be informed that the digital bank will support customer needs through various channels, including bank applications and 24/7 customer support.</p><p><br /></p><p>Also reported, the newly appointed Board of Directors led by Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan has supported GXBank, where he has over 30 years of experience in banking, audit, risk management and focuses on governance and financial inclusion.</p>
