Warning! Shell Insists on Cut Production of Dangerous Laws
<p> Shell's chief executive officer (CEO) has warned that cutting oil and gas production is dangerous and irresponsible.</p><p><br /></p><p>Wael Sawan pointed out that the world still desperately needs oil and gas because the transition to renewable energy is not fast enough to replace it.</p><p><br /></p><p>He added that winter in Europe and increased demand from China could drive energy prices to jump higher.</p><p><br /></p><p>Shell's plan to continue current oil production until 2030 has sparked outrage from climate scientists who have described it as wrong.</p><p><br /></p><p>Wael Sawan in an interview with the BBC disagreed with the call for the company to focus on accelerating the green transition.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>According to him, the reduction of oil and gas production is dangerous and irresponsible because it will cause the cost of living to rise again.</p><p><br /></p><p>He said the war for gas last year saw poor countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh unable to afford shipments of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) which were instead diverted to Northern Europe.</p><p><br /></p><p>This caused people and children to work and study by candlelight, he added.</p><p><br /></p><p>Therefore, if you want to transition, it needs to be a fair transition and not only work for one party.</p>
