Turns out Guilty? The FBI raided the house of the former CEO of Kraken!
<p> "How many years in jail if Jesse Powell is caught?"</p><p><br /></p><p>Kraken cryptocurrency exchange co-founder Jesse Powell's residence in Los Angeles was searched by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) shortly after he was charged with hacking and interfering with a non-profit organization (NGO).</p><p><br /></p><p>It is reported that Kraken's management has released a statement regarding the investigation, but it should be noted that Powell resigned as Kraken's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in September 2022 to focus on the product side.</p><p><br /></p><p>Earlier in February 2023, Kraken was investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the United States (US) regarding violations of unregistered securities offerings in the country but after that a settlement was reached.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>However, the latest investigation came to light when Powell's non-profit art gallery, the Verge Art Center, complained about a disruption to his computer account, where access to email and other communications had been blocked.</p><p><br /></p><p>Even so, the former CEO of Kraken denied the allegations thrown at him as hard as he could.</p><p><br /></p><p>In short, Kraken was notified that Powell was involved in a civil dispute with the Verge Art Center, so there was an open federal investigation and a search warrant was executed to gather more information about the gallery.</p><p><br /></p><p>It is well known that the investigation into Kraken comes as the crypto market is increasingly being monitored by the US following the collapse of FTX which has caused most digital assets to suffer a catastrophic disaster since last year.</p>
