Last Week's Jobless Claims Data Gives a Clearer Sign!
<p> The number of Americans applying for jobless benefits last week fell to a seven-month low as the labor market appeared to be resistant to higher interest rates being imposed, in part to stabilize employment.</p><p><br /></p><p>American claims for jobs fell by 13,000 to 216,000 for the week ended September 2, the Labor Department reported on Thursday.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>The four-week average for claims, which calculates a partial average of week-to-week dependence, fell by 8,500 to 229,250.</p><p><br /></p><p>Unemployment claims are considered to be representative of the number of job losses in a given week. Overall, 1.68 million people collected unemployment benefits in the week ending Aug. 26, about 40,000 fewer than the previous week.</p><p><br /></p><p>The US dollar index, which measures the greenback, was not much affected after the release of this data, still trading strong by 0.25% to a trading level of 105.087.</p>
