<p>Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.</p>
<p>At the close in Tokyo, the rose 0.63%.</p>
<p>The best performers of the session on the were <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Seiko Epson Cor </span></span> (TYO:), which rose 10.42% or 225.00 points to trade at 2,384.00 at the close. Meanwhile, <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Chiyoda Corp. </span></span> (TYO:) added 8.01% or 27.00 points to end at 364.00 and <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. </span></span> (TYO:) was up 7.19% or 102.00 points to 1,520.00 in late trade.</p>
<p>The worst performers of the session were <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. </span></span> (TYO:), which fell 7.03% or 23.40 points to trade at 309.30 at the close. Minebea Mitsumi Inc (TYO:) declined 5.80% or 180.00 points to end at 2,921.00 and <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Toyota Tsusho Corp. </span></span> (TYO:) was down 4.18% or 407.00 points to 9,321.00.</p>
<p>Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2422 to 1206 and 261 ended unchanged.</p>
<p>Shares in Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. (TYO:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 7.03% or 23.40 to 309.30. </p>
<p>The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 3.30% to 19.39.</p>
<p>Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.37% or 0.27 to $72.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.48% or 0.37 to hit $77.70 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 6.85 to trade at $2,046.85 a troy ounce.</p>
<p>USD/JPY was down 0.05% to 148.29, while EUR/JPY fell 0.11% to 159.93.</p>
<p>The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.86.</p>
