<p>Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.</p>
<p>At the close in Tokyo, the added 0.10%.</p>
<p>The best performers of the session on the were <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. </span></span> (TYO:), which rose 3.06% or 340.00 points to trade at 11,455.00 at the close. Meanwhile, <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Fujitsu Ltd. </span></span> (TYO:) added 2.44% or 530.00 points to end at 22,250.00 and TDK Corp (TYO:) was up 2.15% or 142.00 points to 6,752.00 in late trade.</p>
<p>The worst performers of the session were <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. </span></span> (TYO:), which fell 6.49% or 57.90 points to trade at 833.70 at the close. <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. </span></span> (TYO:) declined 4.85% or 17.50 points to end at 343.40 and <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/Corporation"><span itemprop="name"> Resona Holdings, Inc. </span></span> (TYO:) was down 3.75% or 30.50 points to 782.60.</p>
<p>Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2505 to 1165 and 210 ended unchanged.</p>
<p>Shares in Fujitsu Ltd. (TYO:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.44% or 530.00 to 22,250.00. Shares in Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. (TYO:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 4.85% or 17.50 to 343.40. </p>
<p>The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 7.66% to 18.21.</p>
<p>Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.83% or 0.59 to $71.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.75% or 0.57 to hit $76.60 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.46% or 9.20 to trade at $2,002.90 a troy ounce.</p>
<p>USD/JPY was down 0.51% to 145.41, while EUR/JPY fell 0.47% to 156.60.</p>
<p>The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 103.53.</p>
