IG Prime Strengthens APAC Team by Hiring Andrew Wood from CMC

<p dir="ltr">IG Prime, the institutional arm of IG Group (LON: IGG), has strengthened its team with the appointment of Andrew Wood as the Institutional Sales Manager. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has already joined the company and is based out of IG Prime’s Sydney office.</p><p dir="ltr">Like most other big broker brands, IG offers institutional services under the IG Prime brand, including technology, platforms, products, and exchanges. It has operations across nineteen countries across five continents.</p><p dir="ltr">IG Prime Onboards an Industry Expert</p><p dir="ltr">Wood brings over two decades of experience, most from the trading industry, to his new role at IG Prime. He started his career in 2002 as a Treasury Dealer at Bank One but moved to the UK offices of Deutsche Bank after a couple of years in the role of Autobahn FX Trade Support.</p><p dir="ltr">Prior to joining IG Prime, he spent seven years at the Sydney offices of <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/executives/moves/cmc-markets-sydney-taps-andrew-wood-business-development-manager/">CMC Markets as the Head of Institutional Sales APAC</a>. In that role, he developed institutional business for API, white labels, advisory brokers, and funds in the APAC region. He spent another seven years at Saxo Capital Markets Australia, first in the role of Institutional Sales and then as a part of Institutional Business Australia.</p><p dir="ltr">In between his roles at Saxo and CMC Markets, he spent seven brief years at Sydney-based Rushton Financial Services as a Senior Relationship Manager.</p><p dir="ltr">Changes at IG’s Top Role</p><p dir="ltr"><a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/tag/ig-group/">IG </a>is one of the largest forex and contracts for differences (CFDs) broker brands. Although well-known for its retail services, the group first launched its prime services in 2006 but came up with the IG Prime brand in 2020.</p><p dir="ltr">Meanwhile, IG Group recently announced <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/executives/breaking-ig-group-names-breon-corcoran-as-ceo/">Breon Corcoran as its incoming CEO</a>, who will permanently replace June Felix. Corcoran is a former top executive in the online betting industry and was responsible for overseeing the merger of Paddy Power and Betfair in 2016.</p>
