If he becomes President, Donald Trump vows to ban CBDC!
<p> "Somehow people don't want to vote for Trump, but how do you know that everyone wants a CBDC?"</p><p><br /></p><p>During a campaign stop in New Hampshie, Donald Trump who is the former President of the United States (US) has promised to ban the creation of central bank digital currency (CBDC).</p><p><br /></p><p>If he were president, he would never allow the creation of a CBDC, Trump commented on stage alongside former cryptocurrency-friendly candidate Vivek Ramaswamy who recently suspended his campaign.</p><p><br /></p><p>This is because CBDC will be a dangerous threat to freedom, therefore Trump wants to prevent it from coming to the US after it is able to give the federal government absolute control over the people's money and maybe that money does not know where to disappear.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>It is common knowledge that a CBDC is a digital version or tokenized version of cash issued and controlled by a central bank that may or may not use blockchain as the underlying technology.</p><p><br /></p><p>The former US president who has been a critic of the digital asset reportedly owns more than $2.5 million in Ethereum (ETH) according to an August 2023 disclosure.</p><p><br /></p><p>Although there are currently no more proposals from the Federal Reserve (Fed) to introduce CBDC, it does not prevent it from becoming a hot issue in US politics, especially on the campaign trail.</p><p><br /></p><p>CBDC has emerged as one of the hottest issues for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' office as more people are interested in the product than common issues like gun rights and others.</p>
