EUR/USD Steadies as Thanksgiving Approaches: Overview for November 23, 2023

The current exchange rate for EUR/USD is holding at 1.0906.</p>

<p>The recent influx of US statistics failed to make a significant impact on the currency market.</p>

<p>Durable goods orders in the US saw a decline of 5.4% m/m following a 4.0% increase in September. Essentially, the indicator remained relatively unchanged.</p>

<p>The Michigan consumer sentiment index received an upward revision in November, reaching 61.3 points compared to the preliminary calculation of 61.1 points. In terms of components, <a href="https://blog.roboforex.com/blog/2022/06/30/what-is-inflation-reasons-and-consequences/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="220" title="Inflation">inflation</a> expectations rose to 4.5% from the previous 4.4%.</p>

<p>Positive news emerged from the employment market as initial jobless claims fell by 24 thousand over the week, reaching 209 thousand.</p>

<p>Despite these factors, the market remained largely indifferent; durable goods orders are inherently volatile, and other figures aligned with expectations.</p>

<p>With Thanksgiving Day observed in the US today, market activity is expected to dwindle close to zero. The ECB is scheduled to release the minutes of its previous meeting.</p>
