Bad! Binance Ordered to Close Operations in This Country Too!

<p>&nbsp;"Binance is busy guessing, when he can breathe for a moment."</p><p><br /></p><p>The Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) has recently ordered the giant cryptocurrency exchange Binance to stop offering custody wallet operations and services.</p><p><br /></p><p>The FSMA further reported that Binance had offered crypto services in violation of Belgian laws on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism.</p><p><br /></p><p>Binance, which controls 19 companies outside the European Union (EU) and several countries in the EU such as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, has been involved in operations that do not appear in the terms or conditions that Belgian users read when signing up for the service.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>It is well known that Belgian regulators have asked Binance for some information, but the crypto exchange has not submitted any satisfactory answers that could identify the services they provide.</p><p><br /></p><p>Following that, Binance was required to contact all of its Belgium-based customers and return digital assets and private keys held by the crypto exchange, but it has expressed its disappointment over the FSMA's decision.</p><p><br /></p><p>However, Binance is currently reviewing the details of their notice so that it can continue to cooperate with regulators in Belgium and around the world in compliance with its obligations.</p><p><br /></p><p>In addition to FSMA taking aggressive action against Binance, the United States (US) Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) also filed a lawsuit against the crypto exchange for violating securities laws.</p><p><br /></p><p>However, Christophe De Beukelaer, a member of the Belgian parliament, announced in January 2022 that he plans to receive his government salary in Bitcoin (BTC) for a year.</p>
