Australian Treasurer Chalmers says inflation is moderating but persistent

<p>Australian Treasurer Chalmers says inflation is moderating overall, it is proving to be more persistent here in Australia.</p><p>He's half right. </p><p>In the data released earlier all three measures of inflation were above expectation an above the prior reading. </p><p><a href="https://www.forexlive.com/news/australian-q3-2023-headline-cpi-12-qq-vs-11-expected-20231025/" target="_blank" rel="follow" data-article-link="true">Australian Q3 2023 Headline CPI +1.2% q/q (vs. 1.1% expected)</a></p><p>So its not moderating. </p><p>But yeah, it is persistent.
