Argentine Presidential Candidate Pro-BTC, Does the Crypto Community Know?

<p>"Hmmm will there be any changes if Javier Milei is a BTC supporter?"</p><p><br /></p><p>Unbeknownst to Javier Milei, a libertarian candidate who supports the abolition of central banks and is positive about the cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC), he has won Argentina's primary presidential election.</p><p><br /></p><p>With 90% of the votes counted, Milei from the "La Libertad Avanza" party got 30.5% of the votes compared to candidates from "Juntos por el Cambio" and "Unidos por la Patria" who received 28% and 27% respectively.</p><p><br /></p><p>It is well known that polls before the election suggested that Milei would not get the highest number of votes in the election, so the result actually came as a surprise to many.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>According to Milei recently, the central bank is just a scam where politicians cheat good people with taxes but BTC is very different as it represents the return of money to its original creator.</p><p><br /></p><p>Despite his positive attitude toward crypto, Milei does not support the use of BTC as legal tender in Argentina but instead calls for the dollarization of an economy that is currently facing triple-digit inflation rates.</p><p><br /></p><p>So here it can be seen that Milei not only speaks good things about BTC but also considers the digital asset as the safest alternative to trading in gold or silver.</p><p><br /></p><p>However, it should be noted that he had previously been sued for promoting a ponzi scheme in Argentina called Coinx and stealing $800,000 in Argentine pesos, but Milei was found to deny the allegations vehemently.</p><p><br /></p><p>As no candidate is likely to obtain more than 45% in today's voting, a general election between the winners for each party will be held in October 2023 and if no one receives 45% of the vote, the final vote will be held in November this year.</p>
