PMX Asks Saudi Arabia to Invest in Kemaman

<p>&nbsp;Recently, Saudi Aramco has expressed interest in making Malaysia an oil and gas hub for Saudi Arabia in Southeast Asia.</p><p><br /></p><p>It is seen as a good opportunity for the country to further develop the economy and will attract more large investors to invest in Malaysia.</p><p><br /></p><p>However, where is the ideal location for this expansion?</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Speaking at a program at Wakaf Tapai on Wednesday night, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that he had proposed the Saudi Arabian oil giant to invest in Kemaman, Terengganu.</p><p><br /></p><p>It is understood that the chairman of Aramco, Yasir O Al-Rumayyan was initially interested in making Johor the center of its expansion.</p><p><br /></p><p>In his further statement, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah met with Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud during the recent hajj.</p><p><br /></p><p>At that time, His Majesty was informed that Saudi Arabia's investment in Asia would be based in Malaysia.</p>
