Once Hated, Now Google Allow Crypto & NFT Apps!

<p>&nbsp;"Has Google started to be open-minded about digital assets?"</p><p><br /></p><p>The United States (US) technology giant Google made significant changes to its mobile software market policy to accommodate more Web3 developers who want to buy, sell or acquire digital assets on the Play Store.</p><p><br /></p><p>Clarified further, developers will be allowed to integrate digital assets such as non-fungible tokens (NFT) into their applications and games but developers must state in the Play Console that there are blockchain-based elements in the application.</p><p><br /></p><p>According to Joseph Mills, Google Play Product Manager said the move is aimed at proving that Google is ready to create a more interesting and fun digital experience.</p><p><br /></p><p>Please note that developers can receive random blockchain-based items from the purchase of loot boxes*, Mills added.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>*A virtual mystery box where users can trade for crypto rewards</p><p><br /></p><p>Even so, Google, which wants to guarantee the safety of users, has asked developers to work with technology companies to provide a safe, transparent and trusted experience for everyone.</p><p><br /></p><p>Last year, Google Play negotiated with several app and game developers such as Mystical Games and Reddit to integrate NFT Avatar.</p><p><br /></p><p>Mills also emphasized that developers are not allowed to promote or glorify any gaming or trading activities.</p><p><br /></p><p>While applications that do not meet the eligibility requirements under the Google Play Real-Money Gambling, Games and Contest policy are prohibited from receiving money for the chance to win digital assets such as NFT.</p><p><br /></p><p>Google's recent attitude is very different from two years ago, where the company not only kicked out Bitcoin Blast from the Play Store without any rational explanation but also banned the crypto mining app in 2018.</p>
