Apple Does Not Support BTC, Jack Dorsey Criticizes Tim Cook!

<p>&nbsp;"Pity Jack Dorsey, his application will not be banned from the App Store forever."</p><p><br /></p><p>Following Apple banning a Bitcoin (BTC)-based social media application dubbed Damus from its market, Block's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jack Dorsey criticized the tech giant's CEO Tim Cook for not supporting BTC payments.</p><p><br /></p><p>In context, Damus is a decentralized application running on the Nostr protocol and it has a feature called "zaps" that allows users to tip each other in BTC via the Lightning Network.</p><p><br /></p><p>However, the feature runs counter to Apple's terms of service two weeks ago, which said it allowed tips and donations but not payments for digital content.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>But Damus unfortunately refused to remove the function from the app explaining that zaps does not unlock any digital content for users, but Apple still wants to get rid of it.</p><p><br /></p><p>Damus also revealed that it has used Apple Pay as suggested to support censorship-resistant* peer-to-peer payments to its users.</p><p><br /></p><p>*Ensures that the laws governing the network are set in advance and cannot be retroactively changed to suit a particular agenda</p><p><br /></p><p>In short, Apple removed Damus from the App Store after the app allowed tipping to anyone in the world without the need for a bank, payment card or government permission.</p><p><br /></p><p>There is no denying that Tim Cook has not shown any interest in putting BTC on Apple's balance sheet but it is confirmed that he personally owns some of the digital asset.</p>
