Former Prime Ministers of Malaysia Will Be Investigated?

<p>&nbsp;In 2018, Malaysians were shocked by the news of the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak being jailed for misappropriating funds from SRC International Sdn. Bhd. amounting to RM42 million.</p><p><br /></p><p>In addition, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who is the 9th Prime Minister of Malaysia was also brought to court on six charges of misappropriation of funds. However, the High Court released and acquitted the Bersatu President on four charges of using his position for bribery amounting to RM232.5 million for the party.</p><p><br /></p><p>Not to forget, there is also news regarding some parties urging that the former 4th and 7th Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad be investigated following the conglomerate leader, Tun Daim Zainuddin regarding the wealth owned by his children.</p><p><br /></p><p>Earlier this week, Malaysians were presented with news that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will summon a former Prime Minister and two of his aides in an investigation into three separate cases of embezzlement.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>In the future, will Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also be investigated like some other former Prime Ministers of Malaysia?</p><p><br /></p><p>After the 15th General Election, the new government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim began to reform in order to bring Malaysia to a more fair, equitable and completely free system.</p><p><br /></p><p>The Madani Government's determination to eradicate the symptoms of corruption and embezzlement has been expressed since decades, where the Reformation struggle established by Anwar attracted the support of thousands of people when he was sacked as Deputy Prime Minister in 1998.</p><p><br /></p><p>However, the culture of corruption among national leaders needs to be eradicated and investigated transparently to ensure that the people's spending can be fully utilized.</p><p><br /></p><p>Madani's government should be more fair in combating the culture of corruption and not make it a weapon or a mere political revenge.</p>
