Government Shutdown Successfully Avoided, Senate Approves US Government Funding Bill

<p>&nbsp;The latest news reported, the United States (US) Senate has approved a stop-gap funding bill to support government operations and avoid a government shutdown situation.</p><p><br /></p><p>The vote was 87-11.</p><p><br /></p><p>After being passed by the House on Tuesday and now having the approval of Senate leaders, the next step is for the bill to be signed by President Joe Biden.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>White House officials on Tuesday indicated that the President is preparing to sign the bill after it is approved by the Senate.</p><p><br /></p><p>This approved funding will continue until January 19 next year with priority funding for military construction, veterans' welfare, transportation, housing and the Department of Energy.</p><p><br /></p><p>Meanwhile, the rest will be allocated in the second funding until February 2.</p><p><br /></p><p>The funding proposal is said to not include additional aid to Israel or Ukraine.</p>
