Tell us a little bit about you.

I live in Italy, and my dream is to become a full-time trader. I work hard every day to reach my goal, and I think this year will be the year when I will finally be able to live only on trading. Actually I work in a factory for more than 10 hours a day and providing for my family. I don’t hate my job, but it isn’t my dream to do it for the rest of my life.

How long have you been trading?

I started trading around January 2017 with a real account, the broker was icmarkets, but I had a really small capital to use. I was charging 100 euros per month and trying to succeed with no strategy at all.

Briefly describe your Trading Plan and how it contributes to your success.

I started trading with a lot of indicators, and I was following VP on YouTube on the channel “no-nonsense trading.” I had some success, but it wasn’t enough because the market was changing quickly, and I was too lazy to revisit my strategy from time to time. In 2023 I change complitly the way i see markets and i throw away most of my indicators, to have a more analitic and personal approach. Now, I base my decision on the analysis I do daily, and I try to understand what the price will do during the day. Even if the market changes, I can notice it because I follow it constantly, and I change my approach every week if it’s necessary

Please share with us a challenge you faced in your trading career and how you overcame it.

I had and still have 2 major problems. 1) The risk I take per trade 2) The psychological aspect.
1) Sometimes, I don’t respect my stop lose, and I move it or oversize the position and close it in lose because I am losing too much even if, in the end, the position was positive
2) Not every day is the same. I have feelings, and sometimes I can be angry or stressed, or something bad happens in my life, and it is really hard to stay calm and focused this day.
I am working hard to adjust these weaknesses I have

How did you adjust risk management to your trading personality?

I know that if I receive 100k from the prop, I can lose only 10k, so I can’t risk 2% of 100k. This will kill my account sooner or later. So I prefer to risk from 2 to 5% of what I can lose (10k)

Describe a key moment in your trading career.

This summer, I realized that I could see the real volume in the market if I downloaded the I platform for futures trading. Maybe I spend some money to have it because this type of platform is expensive, and I must pay for the data, too, but it pays back really well. Having the order flow and the DOM allows me to see what others miss in the market.

How long does it take to become a consistent trader, and what aspects did you change that helped you become consistent?

It took me 7 years, and I am still working on this aspect. The key factor to be more consistent is to be patient and respect your risk management the best you can. Not every day is a good day for trade, take your time. For me, it worked well to focus on 2/3 markets and not trade everything I had. I know well how these markets move, and I see opportunities faster.

What is your mental/psychological strength, and how did you develop it?

I don’t think I have 1 psychological strength. I try to avoid markets if I don’t feel good about it. If I don’t lose anything today, I have already done better than most traders.

What was your strategy to successfully pass The5ers’ evaluation?

I don’t remember really well when I passed it, but I probably was using a combination of price action with ICT strategy and volumes from order flow.

How is trading for The5ers different from trading by yourself?

I love the support I have from The5ers and the possibility of growing my capital fast. With a normal account, I don’t think it is possible to get this far so fast.

What would you recommend to someone who is just starting with us?

Be patient. You have all the time you want, respect your plan, and wait for the right moments. If you don’t trade today, it’s okay.
